Khao Ang Rue Nai Wildlife Sanctuary

History

This is a conservatory forest covering 674,352 rai, located in the heart of a big forest. The boundary encompasses 5 eastern provinces, i.e. Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Prachinburi. It is the last lowland forest of Thailand with vast areas of forest and various species of wildlife and bird. Ang Rue Nai waterfalls or Bo Thong waterfalls flow from Khlong Mak on Khao Ang Rue Nai, which is the source of water throughout the year. It is about 40 kilometers from the wildlife sanctuary. This is the first wildlife research facility in the eastern part of Thailand and the second facility in Thailand after Khao Nang Rum Wildlife Research Station in Huai Kha Khaeng, Uthai Thani Province.

-Private car from Chachoengsao city, use Chachoengsao-Phanom Sarakham Route (304) and Phanom Sarakham-Sanamchaiket (3245), take Route 3259 through Tha Takiab District to Ban Nong Khok for about 50 km., then follow Ban Nong Khok-Khlong Hat Minor-District, Sa Kaeo Province for about 20 km.
