It was a masonry construction with cannons located along the walls during the reign of King Rama 3 in 1794. Krom Lueng Rakronnares headed the construction project aiming to circumvent enemy invasion. During the reign of King Rama 5, this place was used by the army to fight the Aung Ye rebels or Chinese opium dealers who rampaged and robbed city dwellers. Now the Fine Arts Department has registered it as National Historic Landmarks and front of the fort is used as a public park for Chachoengsao invitation ritual of Sothon, the venerable father, from Bangpakong River is a tradition held on the 14th night of the waxing moon of the 5th month every year which has long been carried out since ancient times. It was a celebration of floating Sothon the venerable father in the past: when the villagers saw the floating statue, they helped each other to pull the statue from the river using ropes, however, they were not able to do it. Therefore, they went to ask the guru and then arranged a sacrificial ceremony according to the traditions before putting holy thread on the hand of the statue and inviting the statue of the venerable father onto the bank successfully. After that, the villagers invited the statue to be placed at Sothonwararam Worawiharn Temple, 248 years ago. Sothon the venerable father\u2019s holiness and power made people from all over the country believe in him and regularly travel to pay respects. The statue is considered a holy and respectable itemof Chachoengsao. During the event, there is a performance of the past events when the villagers invited Sothon the venerable father\u2019s statue from the Bangpakong River. And Krom Muen Marupong Siripat, knowledgeable in administration who headed the provincial municipality was appointed the governor at that time. Construction planning in Prachin Region was in fact the beginning of Chachoengsao city planning. The palace of Krom Muen Marupong Siripat, a two-story wooden house was considered the very first building used as \u201cpublic official residence\u201d of Padrew. Another historical significance, a great pride for the people of the city residents was this palace accommodated King Rama 5 when he twice made royal visits to Chachoengsao. When Thailand adopted political policy to lead military and changed its political system from Jatusadom to provincial municipality, Chachoengsao was the government office for Prachin Region. And Krom Muen Marupong Siripat, knowledgeable in administration who headed the provincial municipality was appointed the governor at that time. Construction planning in Prachin Region was in fact the beginning of Chachoengsao city planning. The palace of Krom Muen Marupong Siripat, a two-story wooden house was considered the very first building used as \u201cpublic official residence\u201d of Padrew. Another historical significance, a great pride for the people of the city residents was this palace accommodated King Rama 5 when he twice made royal visits to Chachoengsao. His picture was bestowed when he first visited the place along with his hand writing read \"Given to Prachin Region (town of Chachoengsao) on a visit to this place with pleasure between 24th and 29th of January 1907, Ror Sor 40 126\".
