Chachoengsao Northeastern Regional Observatory is built on a 36-rai land in Chachoengsao. It consists of two-story shell shaped building and is divided into 2 zones as follows. 1. Fiberglass clamshell dome with a diameter of about 18 feet, can be opened to view the sky around. Inside the dome is a telescope of 0.5 meters in diameter. 2. Star watching deck under a rectangle roof has two 14-inch telescopes, two 6-inch telescopes, and two solar telescopes installed and roof is controlled with electric motors. -Planetarium has a semi-circular roof. A 10-meter diameter dome with a 25-megapixel full-dome digital projector can accommodate up to 50 audiences at a time. Model of solar system, objects in the space, and astronomical phenomena are exhibited throughout. -Observation deck for outdoor astronomical observatories displays astronomical drawings for more than 100 meters long around the wall of the observatory. -Botanical observatory is a conserved botanical garden of edible plants and cultivars. The area is about 18 rai and used as a public park for people to relax as well as activities sponsored by the community and the government. At its frontage, a canal flows through the Bang Pakong river. It was built around 200 years ago. This area was once the Burmese military bases both army and navy. They battled with and were defeated by the army of King Taksin the Great. The King thus built a pagoda at this place to commemorate the victory. The pagoda was located at the memorial of King Taksin the Great. However, it was destroyed by water erosion since 1948. The Fine Arts Department rebuilt it at the same place around the chapel starting from the golden chapel pillar. The base of each pole is a standing giant sculpture, 2 giants are carved for all pillars at the corner. Though, these are molding, the patterns are quite detailed. All 8 Sema leaves are decorated on the incredibly beautiful arch. Staircases are a pair of Kocha Puksa distinctive to Wat Pak Nam Jolo unlike other places that often use different animals such as Naga. Or on the cement balcony of the chapel, 4 Bearing Altar Hanumans are molded for each slot. The wall at rear of the chapel is the Stopping the Rainstorm attitude of the Buddha image that enshrined in the middle between the 2 doors. Three slots in front of the chapel are enshrined the Buddha images on the base rather than building them on the wall. The patterns of the base of the Buddha images are beautifully detailed. At the bottom are 9 images of Theppanom. At the middle are 3 images of Theppanom on 3-head Naga turning their back to each other. The upper floor is also very beautiful. Staircases to the chapel are Kocha Puksa figures on both sides with an overall body of a bird, head of an elephant, the lower body part of a swan, and main body and arms of a Garuda. Inside the chapel of Wat Pak Nam Jolo, the presiding Buddha statue is in Subduing Mara attitude. It is effortless to describe the beauty of the chapel. Carved patterns or mold are used to make interior design of the chapel all in golden color just as the outside instead of wall painting. This is a unique style of Wat Pak Nam Jolo and it is a very beautiful feature. Candleholder and incense burner inside probably need to be moved outside otherwise smoke may cover the golden ceiling. In addition, there is a room under the base of the presiding Buddha statue, which leads the way to the rear. It is believed that persons who walk through the passage under the presiding Buddha statue will be lucky. The temple offers a set for merit making, i.e. incense, candle, cone, and crystal balls on the tray with prayer for forgiveness from the Triple Gems. Pak Nam Jolo was a monastery dated back to the end of Ayutthaya period. At its frontage, a canal flows through the Bang Pakong river. It was built around 200 years ago. This area was once the Burmese military bases both army and navy. They battled with and were defeated by the army of King Taksin the Great. The King thus built a pagoda at this place to commemorate the victory. The pagoda was located at the memorial of King Taksin the Great. However, it was destroyed by water erosion since 1948. The Fine Arts Department rebuilt it at the same place around the chapel starting from the golden chapel pillar. The base of each pole is a standing giant sculpture, 2 giants are carved for all pillars at the corner. Though, these are molding, the patterns are quite detailed. All 8 Sema leaves are decorated on the incredibly beautiful arch. Staircases are a pair of Kocha Puksa distinctive to Wat Pak Nam Jolo unlike other places that often use different animals such as Naga. Or on the cement balcony of the chapel, 4 Bearing Altar Hanumans are molded for each slot. The wall at rear of the chapel is the Stopping the Rainstorm attitude of the Buddha image that enshrined in the middle between the 2 doors. Three slots in front of the chapel are enshrined the Buddha images on the base rather than building them on the wall. The patterns of the base of the Buddha images are beautifully detailed. At the bottom are 9 images of Theppanom. At the middle are 3 images of Theppanom on 3-head Naga turning their back to each other. The upper floor is also very beautiful. Staircases to the chapel are Kocha Puksa figures on both sides with an overall body of a bird, head of an elephant, the lower body part of a swan, and main body and arms of a Garuda. Inside the chapel of Wat Pak Nam Jolo, the presiding Buddha statue is in Subduing Mara attitude. It is effortless to describe the beauty of the chapel. Carved patterns or mold are used to make interior design of the chapel all in golden color just as the outside instead of wall painting. This is a unique style of Wat Pak Nam Jolo and it is a very beautiful feature. Candleholder and incense burner inside probably need to be moved outside otherwise smoke may cover the golden ceiling. In addition, there is a room under the base of the presiding Buddha statue, which leads the way to the rear. It is believed that persons who walk through the passage under the presiding Buddha statue will be lucky. The temple offers a set for merit making, i.e. incense, candle, cone, and crystal balls on the tray with prayer for forgiveness from the Triple Gems. The following is an important merit making, unlike other temples that offer 108 food offerings per individual\u2019s faith, here food offerings are made to the 28 Lord Buddha each of which, the name is attached to the base. These offerings are made to the monks at Nong Bua Temple and Nong Han Temple, which are located in Panom Sarakham district, Chachoengsao province. This tradition is held on the 15th night of the waxing moon, of the third month every year. The reason for offering Kao Lham could be because the third month is the month of the rice harvest, and most of the villagers work as farmers. Therefore, they use the rice from the first harvest to cook food using ripened bamboo as a container to cook the rice. This is called Kao Lham, and it is offered to the monks.\r\nThe roasting of Kao Lham starts from the 14th night of the waxing moon of the third month; the villagers will collect bamboo within the village to make rice tubes. Therefore, the bamboo has to be not too old or too young and it cannot have tiny holes as these holes can cause an unpleasant smell, and there is no membrane in the bamboo to make the rice stick to the tube. The length of the tubes should be about 18 inches using the stem of the bamboo and cutting into pieces with the joints on the bottom of each tube. Then, a mixture of sticky rice and coconut milk is put into the tubes and roasted in the courtyard by digging into the soil and building a shallow pit; the sticky rice tubes should be parallel to the fire. Some people use dread trees as fuel. The next morning, the 15th day of the waxing moon, or full moon day, the villagers will bring Kao Lham and rice noodles to the temple as offerings.\r\nBun Kao Lham of Lao Vientiane people is still made as it was in the past and has also mixed with Thai traditions, which includes putting gold sheets on the copy of the Buddha\u2019s footprints at Khao Dongyang Temple (Suwaankeeree Temple) in the Nong Han sub-district, Panom Sarakham district, Chachoengsao province. This tradition is held on the 15th night of the waxing moon, of the third month every year. The reason for offering Kao Lham could be because the third month is the month of the rice harvest, and most of the villagers work as farmers. Therefore, they use the rice from the first harvest to cook food using ripened bamboo as a container to cook the rice. This is called Kao Lham, and it is offered to the monks.\r\nThe roasting of Kao Lham starts from the 14th night of the waxing moon of the third month; the villagers will collect bamboo within the village to make rice tubes. Therefore, the bamboo has to be not too old or too young and it cannot have tiny holes as these holes can cause an unpleasant smell, and there is no membrane in the bamboo to make the rice stick to the tube. The length of the tubes should be about 18 inches using the stem of the bamboo and cutting into pieces with the joints on the bottom of each tube. Then, a mixture of sticky rice and coconut milk is put into the tubes and roasted in the courtyard by digging into the soil and building a shallow pit; the sticky rice tubes should be parallel to the fire. Some people use dread trees as fuel. The next morning, the 15th day of the waxing moon, or full moon day, the villagers will bring Kao Lham and rice noodles to the temple as offerings.\r\nBun Kao Lham of Lao Vientiane people is still made as it was in the past and has also mixed with Thai traditions, which includes putting gold sheets on the copy of the Buddha\u2019s footprints at Khao Dongyang Temple (Suwaankeeree Temple) in the Nong Han sub-district, Panom Sarakham district, Chachoengsao province.
